I was reading Mrs Dalloway on the beach on the 18th August 1995, when a very handsome man was coming out of the sea and made some passing comment. A casual, correct and polite comment. We started chatting. Last Sunday, 18th May, we celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary. So, yes, I will do my best to be work-free on the 18th June and read it again, along with you. Thanks, Henry. (18 appearing to be a key number in my life :-)

What time zone are you speaking of with this reading schedule? I’m central time zone in the US. I have most of the day available except for a one hour doctor appointment, so am planning to read along.

Same here, Eastern time.

I hope to be able to do this, although between reading another famous and much longer book that also takes place on a single day (in preparation for an upcoming course) and writing a weekly essay on literature, I'm not sure if I can ...

Ah, I might have guessed if I’d given some thought to it. I’ve read it once, hope you enjoy it.

That’s great! Thanks Steve. I’ll be on London time - but no reason you shouldn’t stick to the same timings in your time zone. You can always join the chat threads later.

I'm on Malaysia time, so I'll kick off with you all, but may not make it through the night... 😁 Either way, looking forward to it. Again, it's many, many decades since I read this book.

Hello Henry, I have marked down the 18th of June into my diary and I am hoping to be able to join in with the read-along! It is such a lovely idea to read the book over a course of day as the book also spans a day. I have never read Mrs Dalloway, but it has been on my TBR for awhile now! 😊

I am planning on going to Norfolk for the day the read-along starts, via coach, so it would be perfect to read while I travel. I look forward to joining! 📚

I just love the idea of reading it all in a single day, Henry! Unfortunately, due to other commitments, I won’t be able to do this.

I’m really looking forward to discussing this one with the Hatchards group too. I haven’t been able to join the last couple of read-alongs (though I still read the books), so I’m especially excited for this discussion.

Looking forward to reading this but sadly pesky work will get in the way on Wednesday 18th (& my son's last A level is that day so we will be out "partying" in the evening)! Looking forward to catching up with your thoughts on the Friday

I've just discovered that my version is smaller print - fewer pages, but a bit of a challenge with mature eyes!

Just catching up after a week away. I’m definitely joining you for this. Just ordered the book from my library. I’ve actually got my husband to join in on this one… I think he’s decided he’ll join me as he keeps hearing your voice playing when I’m doing your other reads. 🤣 I’ve put the date in the diary👍
